Craig, the craftsman behind Bruce's Boxes, apprenticed under his later father Bruce for many years, works from his home based modern workshop in Launceston. Whilst Craig has a modern workshop with all the newer woodworking tools, at the end of the day he believes nothing beats a quality finish for sight and feel as good old fashion 'elbow Grease.'
Tasmanian Myrtle: The Heart of Tasmania's Cool Temperate Rainforests.
Myrtle is a predominant species in Tasmania's cool temperate rain-forests. In wet eucalypt forests, Myrtle grows as an under storey tree, and as a small shrub at higher altitudes when the site is exposed to wind. Achieving its best growth in highly organic soils.
Depending on available rainfall and humidity, Myrtle can be fairly fast growing. In optimum growing conditions, it is capable of regenerating continuously and forests can contain Myrtle trees ranging from 1 to 500 years old.

Each box is fitted with full-length piano hinges attached to the lid of each box body, including a specially designed backrest, providing great stability and strength.
Over the years Craig has built relationships with a small number of well-respected millers and timber merchants in Tasmania and always makes sure to source his timber sustainably.
